Describe the building
Share the full address, postcode, building use, number of floors, approximate floor area and whether the building contains several units. Note any areas that are vacant or have restricted access.
Explain why and when you need the EPC
State whether the certificate relates to a sale, letting, construction or another purpose, and give your target date. Timeframes and assessment method depend on the building and available access.
Provide available documents
Existing floor plans, building information and heating or lighting details may help the assessor scope the work. Do not delay your enquiry if you do not have these documents; mention what is available.
Review the written quote
Confirm the assessment scope, fee, any VAT or additional charges, access requirements, proposed visit and expected certificate delivery before accepting.
